After School Clubs

After School Clubs.

We believe in developing the whole child beyond the academic area and supporting PE in the National Curriculum is a wide range of sporting activities available to children after school throughout the whole school year. The sporting clubs change throughout the seasons, so keep an eye on the Monthy Newsletter to see what is going to be available.

Ysgol Licswm is part of the Dragon Sport Initiative (information on this initiative is more detailed in the Sporting Aims section of this prospectus) The whole purpose is to provide a service that makes sport FUN for ALL. With this philosophy in mind our after school clubs are for all children and not just those interested in competitive sport.

The following clubs are usually available throughout the different sport seasons of the year:

Rugby                              Hockey                            Athletics

Football                          Cricket                            Rounders

Netball                             Tennis

All these clubs follow the Dragon Sport Programme and develop children’s skills in their chosen game.

Not all our after school clubs are based on sport.  We also have Gardening, Digital leaders (ICT), Eco Group, Languages and Craft.

LAFS Lixwm AFter School Club

LAFS provides flexible, cost effective child-care for children of Lixwm School from Reception to Year 6.  We can accommodate up to 32 children each day from 3.15 – 5.30pm Mon – Thur and  3.15 – 5pm Fri.  For current fees please see Mrs Zillah Dovey who is the Senior Play Leader by calling into the club any day after school.

Please note – all bookings must be in advance and must be either fixed bookings (same day and time indefinitely) or must be sent to the club with the money no later than Thursday for the following week or we cannot guarantee a place.  This club currently takes place in our school hall.   Please complete a registration form (to be found in school foyer) to register for this facility and return to Zillah.

Please never phone school to ask for a place as LAFS is completely separate from the school and the school staff do not run the administration of LAFS.

Breakfast Club

Children can attend from 8.00am each morning and receive a free healthy breakfast. However the club is only free from 8.15, though children are welcome to arrive at 8.00am and pay £1 per day. This money should be given to the breakfast club staff on arrival.  All children who come to Breakfast Club must eat breakfast. This takes place in the school hall, so children enter school through the hall door off the main road.  Last arrival time to receive breakfast is 8.30.
